Dispose of Hard-to-Recycle Items
Got an old TV or blender hanging around? Recycle it during Longmont’s Hard-to-Recycle event from 9 am-3:50 pm, starting Monday, Oct. 11, through Saturday, Oct. 16; and from Monday, Oct. 18, to Friday, Oct. 22. This event is for City of Longmont residents, by reservation only, and drop-off will be at Green Girl Recycling, 21 S. Longmont Restaurant Week: Oct. 8-17
Longmont Restaurant Week returns for its fourth year this October! During Longmont Restaurant Week, all participating “fooderies” and “drinkeries” offer a special menu at one of two price points: $18.71 or $28.71. Special to this year’s event, drinkeries throughout Longmont are crafting special beverages to raise a glass in celebration of Longmont’s 150th birthday. ‘Thriller’ Line Dance Workshop
Learn Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance moves! Recreation & Golf Services is offering his signature line dance from 7-9 pm on Friday, Oct. 15, at the Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. Participants age 12 and older will learn this fun series of smooth moves just in time for Halloween fun. Teen event: ‘Makeup vs. AI with Cardi Acarrest’
Calling all teens and tweens! Reserve your seat at the Library’s “Makeup vs. AI” event featuring drag presenter Cardi Acarrest from 2-3:30 pm on Saturday, Oct. 23, in the Library Large Meeting Room, 409 4th Ave. Teens will learn makeup skills from Cardi Acarrest before trying to use what they’ve learned to fool facial recognition technology. Teens will also learn more about facial recognition, how it works, and how it’s used. Fall Harvest at Sandstone Ranch
Oink! Moo! Cock-a-doodle-do! Celebrate Día de los Muertos Downtown!
The Día de los Muertos Family Celebration will open the season in downtown Longmont this Saturday, Oct. 9, from 2-6 p.m. We are bringing back the street festival, including music and dance performances, arts and craft activities, cultural education, delicious food, downtown business altars, and the Gigantes Procession. Día de los Muertos exhibitions at both the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, and the Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th Ave., will also be open and free. Park downtown or at the Longmont Museum and take the free shuttle between locations so you can enjoy all the activities of the day. New Virtual Engagement Opportunity for the Coffman Street Busway Project Now Available
On September 27, the City of Longmont hosted a public open house where attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the community vision for Coffman Street and submit feedback on corridor characteristics. The same information presented at the public open house is now available on Engage Longmont. Visit the website to view the project boards and visit the “Corridor Characteristics” section by October 15 to submit feedback on corridor characteristics such as trees/landscaping, parking and bus stops.
