Airport Road Barrier Wall Coming Down
Activities will begin Tuesday, October 13 for removal of the jersey barriers along Airport Road. The plan is to start at the southern end, just north of 9th Avenue, and progressively work to the northern terminus, just south of Mountain View Avenue. The entire removal will take 2-3 weeks, depending on weather conditions and coordination of traffic control with Xcel Energy crews also working in the area. With substantial completion of the Heron Lake Relief Channel located upstream, designed to minimize the risk of flooding in the area, the barriers can be removed as we mark another step forward in Longmont’s flood recovery and protection efforts.

Park Restroom Closures for Winter

Day of the Dead Community Altar
The Longmont Public Library invites the community to celebrate the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, during October. The November 1 holiday celebrates and honors the lives of loved ones we have lost. Through November 2, the Library’s second floor will be the site of a community altar to display photos, mementos, and messages to loved ones who have died. All community members are encouraged to participate by bringing items for the altar, but please do not bring anything valuable or irreplaceable.
