Public Invited to Sister Cities Ceremony
The Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming and the Longmont Sister Cities Association are proud to announce the formation of the first sister cities relationship between a sovereign tribal nation and a U.S. city. A celebration and formal signing ceremony is scheduled at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. The Northern Arapaho will become Longmont’s third sister city along with Chino, Japan, and Ciudad Guzman, Mexico. Call 303-651-8601 with questions. Webinar: ‘Identify & Use Native Grasses’

Universal Masking in Boulder County
To support the safety of all community members, including children who are not eligible for vaccination, Boulder County Public Health has issued Public Health Order 2021-08. The order, approved by Board of Health on Sept. 2, requires mask wearing in all indoor public spaces for all individuals 2 years and older regardless of vaccination status. CERT Basic Training Course
Are you interested in learning in-depth skills you can use in the event of a disaster? Sign up for our free CERT (Community Emergency Response Course) Basic Training course, presented by Longmont Public Safety Emergency Response Management team. Classes will take place in-person on Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. starting on Sept. 14 through Nov. 16. CERT Training empowers community members to assist themselves, their families, neighbors, and community before, during, and after disasters. All students must be 18 years of age or older, and preference will be given to individuals who live and work in Longmont. You must attend all sessions in order to complete the certification. City Seeking Feedback on Rental Housing Survey
Longmont City Council is considering options for establishing a rental housing licensing and rental housing inspection program to ensure safe housing for Longmont residents. In June, Council directed staff to begin to develop a program for Longmont, including conducting outreach to get input on the proposed program. Please complete a short survey to provide feedback about rental housing licensing and inspections. The survey will be available through September 30, 2021.
