Two AIPP Calls for Artists Deadlines Extended
Two Art in Public Places Calls to Artists project deadlines have been extended to October 12, 2016. They are for the Downtown Tree Stump Project, which seeks an artist to design and carve two Colorado Palm (aka honey locust) tree stumps measuring approximately 7-8 feet tall at the intersection of the 300 block east side alley way and the 300 E-W breezeway in downtown Longmont; and the Library Entryway Project, which seeks an artist who is meticulous in their work to repaint an iconic entryway in front of the Longmont Public Library. For more information email Lauren.Greenfield@LongmontColorado.gov or call 303-651-8924.
Show Us Your Power And Win a Kindle!
Have you dazzled your neighborhood with Christmas decorations, comforted your child with a nightlight, or even boosted your own health with some streetlight-assisted bicycling and evening walks? Share that story with Longmont Power & Communications, and you could win an Amazon Kindle in this year’s Public Power Week contest, “Using Your (Public) Power for Good.” To enter the drawing, let LPC know about your own positive use of public power – whether in words, pictures, music, or any other media of your choice – and email it to LPC@LongmontColorado.gov or send a private Facebook message to Longmont Power & Communications before the end of the day on Saturday, October 8. For details, go to LongmontColorado.gov/lpc and click “Public Power Week Contest 2016.” All ages are welcome!
Is Your Voter Registration Current?
It’s time to check your voter registration as all active voters are sent a ballot in the mail. Make sure your registration is current. This is especially important if you’ve moved in the last year or if you haven’t voted for a few years. Visit BoulderCountyVotes.org, and consider signing up for Ballot Track, too – it will send you messages by email, text, or phone when your mail ballot has been printed, mailed, and received back by Boulder County Elections during election periods.
