In-person Coffee with Council on Saturday
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Intercambio, 1715 Iron Horse Drive, Suite 130. At this event, you can talk informally with Council Members Susie Hidalgo-Fahring and Polly Christensen on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Call 303-651-8649 for more information.
Coffman Street Busway Project Open House
Join us for a public open house to learn more about the Coffman Street Busway Project from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, at The St. Vrain, 635 3rd Ave. The open house will feature poster stations where attendees can learn more from the Coffman Street Project Team about the new community vision for Coffman Street, including important components such as transit and bike lanes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit feedback on corridor characteristics such as trees, landscaping, parking and bus stops. Additionally, staff from Boulder County will be on-hand to answer questions regarding the proposed Diagonal Highway (SH-119) bikeway. Spanish interpretation will be available. Outdoor Jazz Concert at the Library
Join the Longmont Public Library for a night of great jazz on the Library’s West patio from 6:30-7:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 27. The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band is made up of some of the local high schools’ best players. Longtime teacher Bill Wilkinson, who started the band in 2001, directs the 17-player band. The group has played at Dazzle Night Club in Denver, performed with the Lawrence Welk Band in Missouri and at the Olympic Torch ceremony in 2002! Registration is NOT required, and there will be limited seating of 50 chairs on the patio. Seating will begin at 6 pm.
Volunteers Needed to be Victim Advocates
The Longmont Department of Public Safety has several openings for victim advocate volunteers. Advocates work with the victims of crimes, accidents, natural disasters and other critical events to provide support services that include providing information, emotional support and referrals to other local resources that may be able to offer the victim additional assistance and services. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and be able to work four shifts per month for a full year. Strider Glider Bike Race for Preschoolers
Preschoolers ages 2-5 can showcase their balance biking skills at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Willow Farm Park, 901 S. Fordham St., during a morning of racing fun. Participants should bring their glider and helmet (required). In-Person Thursday Nights @ the Museum
Join the Longmont Museum in-person for special classes and events on Thursday evenings! Art & Sip classes for adults this season start at 6:30 p.m. and several commemorate the 150th anniversary of Longmont’s founding, including “Painting the Old Sugar Mill” on Oct. 7! Upcoming programs held in the Stewart Auditorium include “Voices of Change: Black Lives Matter” at 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 30 and “Pro Musica Colorado: Rainbow Strings” at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 7. Keep Your Leased Property Crime-Free

The Longmont Police Department will be hosting a free one-day class on their Crime Free Housing Program from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. The Crime Free Housing Program is designed to help owners and managers of rental properties keep illegal activity off their properties.
