Update your autopay on new City website

The City of Longmont has launched a new website at longmontcolorado.gov, including a new utility payment portal. This means utility customers who have their accounts set to autopay or who previously signed up for online billing must create a new account and re-enter their information. To do so, go online to MyUtilityAccount.longmontcolorado.gov and follow the instructions. You will need your City of Longmont utility account number to start the process; if you need the number or have any other questions, please call Utility Billing at 303-651-8664.

Get help at the Longmont Senior Center!

Volunteers from the Longmont Senior Center are offering free in-person assistance through Sept. 18. The following help sessions will be at the Longmont Senior Center at 910 Longs Peak Ave.:

  • 2-4 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 10, room D/E
  • 3-5 pm on Thursday, Sept. 12, room D/E
  • 9-11 am on Tuesday, Sept. 17, room E
  • 10 am-noon on Wednesday, Sept. 18, room A

 

Participants will need to bring the account number on your utility bill. If you do not have this, please call Utility Billing at 303-651-8664 for assistance. The address of your email account and its password. If you do not have an email account, the volunteers will help you set one up. The payment method you will be using on your utility account. Callahan Open House & ArtWalk

As part of Firehouse ArtWalk, enjoy a self-led tour at the historic Callahan House, 312 Terry St., from 4-8 pm on Saturday, Sept. 14. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Local artists will be selling their work with live music in the garden. No registration required. Longmont Airshow & Expo Returns

The Longmont Airshow & Expo returns to the Vance Brand Municipal Airport on Sat, Sept 14. Admission and vehicle and bicycle parking are free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase. The Expo starts at 7 am with a pancake breakfast and features aircraft displays and hands-on demonstrations until 5 pm. The airshow runs from 11 am to 1 pm and includes fly-ins and flyovers from a variety of aircraft and performance teams. Find out more at www.longmontairshow.com.

ArtWalk on Main Street and Longmont Arts Week

From Sept. 14-21, enjoy arts & creativity in our community! Firehouse Art Center will kick off Longmont Arts Week with their ArtWalk on Main festival from 4-8 pm on Saturday, Sept. 14. The week continues with tons of other fun and creative events in the Longmont Creative District. Then we’ll wrap up the festivities with Rhythm at Roosevelt from 2-10 pm on Saturday, Sept. 21!

 

ArtWalk on Main is the Firehouse Art Center’s yearly community cultural festival that brings together local artists, art lovers, and the community, and highlights art, music, creativity, and positive change in our community.  Longmont Arts Week will feature smaller community events centered around arts and creativity—anything made of the hand or mind. Activities will take place throughout the Longmont Creative District in downtown Longmont from Sunday, Sept. 15 through Friday, Sept. 20. Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Join your Longmont Librarians for a special all-ages bilingual program to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month from 2-4 pm on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Longmont Library, 409 4th Ave. We’ll start with a special dance performance from Nahucalli Dance Troupe, crafts for children and adults, a bilingual storytime and a piñata! All ages are welcome! No registration required and this event is free to attend.

 

Special storytime with cellist at Library

Join your Children’s Librarians for a special Family Storytime from 10-10:30 am on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Longmont Library Meeting Rooms, 409 4th Ave.! Special guest musician Katarina M. Pliego will present a musical Family Storytime. Katarina has played and studied cello all over the world and will share her music and picture book with us at this all ages storytime. No registration required to attend.

 

Free Outdoor Concert at the Museum

Join the Longmont Museum in their newly renovated outdoor courtyard for a free concert with Hazel Miller & The Collective this Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 pm. Colorado-based music icon Hazel Miller has been described as a force of nature. Her band, The Collective, is one of the tightest and most versatile on the scene, bringing an eclectic mix of Jazz, blues, funk and original music guaranteed to get the audience dancing and singing along. Help keep our waterways clean

What could you be sending to  our streams? Stormwater  runoff collects litter, pesticides, fertilizers, and other pollutants from our homes and businesses and carries it  straight to  local waterways untreated. From Fields to the White House

Join in on a story on a life of a migrant child, teen and mother during the Longmont Library’s special presentation “From Fields to the White House” from 5-6:30 pm on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the City Council Chambers, Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St. The harsh work that goes unappreciated and poorly paid. The hard lessons learned in the fields are not taught in school. While missing months of schooling, these lessons in the field have sustained a person throughout life. Be inspired by how one child, one woman, changed the cycle of poverty for herself and her children. Volunteer at Rhythm at Roosevelt

Community volunteers are the heart of the Rhythm at Roosevelt festival! This year’s event is Saturday, Sept. 21 at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Ave. Shifts are between 2-10 pm, and all volunteers receive an official keepsake t-shirt to wear at the event and take home.
