Training for Longmont Home Owners Associations
Training for Longmont Home Owners Associations
HOA board members, members and interested Longmont residents are invited to attend free informational meetings sponsored by the City of Longmont Community and Neighborhood Resources department in October and November.
On Oct. 9, 2014, at 6:30 pm, the HindmanSanchez Law Firm will present, “Successful Enforcement of Covenants, Rules and Architectural Standards/Guidelines,” at the Longmont Senior Center, Rooms D and E, 910 Longs Peak Ave.
Whether you are brand new to a board or a seasoned veteran, you’ll no doubt agree that enforcement of covenants,
rules and architectural guidelines is one of the most important duties boards and architectural committee members
have. Covenant enforcement is also one of the messiest and more difficult areas for boards to manage. In this class,
we’ll cover the covenant enforcement process, legal requirements for board members, and common pitfalls of
covenant enforcement. We will also review the receipt, review and response process that architectural
committee members should understand and enforce when navigating the architectural review process. Finally, we
will provide you with tools to get a better “grip” on the enforcement issues in your communities.
On Nov. 6, 2014 at 7 pm, City of Longmont staff will present, “Training for Longmont Home Owners Associations,” also at the Longmont Senior Center, Rooms D and E. Staff will talk about how HOAs are formed in Longmont; what documents an HOA must have and how the City can help obtain those; learn which properties, systems and facilities HOAs must maintain; and answer any questions.
Please RSVP to Virginia Jones (303) 651-8444 if you are planning on attending either of these free two-hour sessions.
