Two Adults Arrested With 400 Stolen Items

Earlier this week, two adult males (ages 46 and 24) were arrested and had in their possession over 400 items stolen from Longmont residents. It took several officers more than 6 hours and 790 photos to catalog all of the items for Longmont Police Property and Evidence.

All of these items were stolen between August 1, 2017 and Sunday, October 22, 2017. The items include, but are not limited to: handheld power tools, compressors, and professional landscape equipment.

Longmont Public Safety would like to get these items back to their owners, but need help from residents in doing this as efficiently as possible. We are asking the following:

Step 1. Locate the number you were given when your police report was filed. If you did not file a police report, please do not go to step 2 until that report is filed. Unless we have a police report, we cannot return property to you. Internet link to file a report – https://longmontcolorado.gov/…/public-…/report-online-police

Step 2. If you believe that your items (stolen between Aug 1, 2017 and October 22, 2017) may have been recovered please EMAIL Detective Desmond at stephen.desmond@longmontcolorado.gov with the following information:
a. Longmont Police report number
b. Your name and a phone number that you can be reached at.
c. Description of the items that you believe we may have. Please provide any information that can help us connect these items to you (including a serial number, make/model, dents, markings, your name etched on it, color, size, etc.). The better details you can provide, the quicker we can get these returned.

Step 3. Once we have received your email, we will take your information and try to connect the items to property that has been recovered. Staff will contact you as soon as they connect your property to the items we have in our custody. Please be patient as there are 400 items on this list and it is unclear how many victims are involved.

UPDATE: 4:22PM on 10/25/17. We do not have any of the following items: garden decorations, bicycles or lawn mowers.
