Union Reservoir Swim Beach Reopens July 6 with 50-Person Capacity
The Union Reservoir swim beach will reopen in a limited capacity on Monday, July 6. A maximum of 50 people will be allowed onto the swim beach on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the 50-person capacity has been reached, no other swimmers will be allowed on the beach until someone leaves.
Swim beach hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. No open water swims are scheduled. The dog swim beach and fishing pier remains closed at this time.
What to Expect:
- The swim beach area will be fenced off to maintain the 50-swimmer capacity.
- Staff will be at the entrance in order to monitor the 50-swimmer capacity.
- Lifeguards will be present.
- Dog beach and fishing pier are closed.
As with the phased reopening of the Recreation Center and other City pools, guests will be asked to follow the general COVID-19 public health guidelines including maintaining six feet of distance from others, wearing a mask when not actively in the water and refraining from gathering. General guidelines for visiting:
- Please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms associated with the novel coronavirus, have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, or are in a vulnerable population (older adults and those with underlying health conditions).
- Patrons are required to wear a face covering into and out of the Reservoir and any time social distancing cannot be maintained. Face coverings are not required while actively swimming.
- Patrons should maintain 6-foot distancing from people not from the same household. This rule applies both in and out of the water.
