Winter Weather Alert: Snow and Ice

The City is preparing to launch snow & ice operations on Wednesday, March 13 as a winter storm moves through the area. Snow is expected to start late Wednesday night and continue all day on Thursday, March 14 and through the morning of Friday, March 15.

Current estimates are expecting a significant amount of snow, projecting between 6 and 12 inches over the course of the storm. The snow is expected to be very wet and heavy and could impede travel and other services. City crews will be working in continuous shifts from Wednesday night through Friday night, applying de-icing material and plowing roads. Please prepare, use caution and avoid or limit travel when conditions are hazardous.

City of Longmont facilities are expected to remain open through Friday. However, potential weather-related late starts to facilities around the City are possible. Call the Customer Service Call Center at 303-651-8416 or visit the City’s website for questions related to City buildings and services that may be impacted by the storm.
