According to the Longmont water rent collection register, the first person showing residence at this property was Mrs. A.L. (Rachel) Atkins from April 1902-1914. Roy Babbit lived here for a while according to the Polk Longmont Directory. They may have been associated by profession. Both Mrs. Babbit and Rachel Atkins were listed as apiarists (beekeepers).

Carl Hildreth appears to have been the most notable resident. Water rent records show he occupied the property from April 1916 until his death in 1935. After that it seems his widow, Merl, and her son Leonard and his wife Alma remained in the house. Leonard W. Hildreth was a highway patrolman, and his wife Alma was a cook.

Carl Hildreth's prominence in the community stems from his photographic talents. His brother Frank established a photography studio in Longmont in 1902. He brought his brother Carl into the business, and together they operated studios in Longmont, Berthoud, Lyons, and Ft. Collins. Their popularity is documented by the many pictures of babies, school classes, weddings and street scenes from Longmont to Ft. Collins.
