Plans are underway for renovations to Longmont’s Dog Park #1, located at the southeast corner of 21st Avenue and Francis Street.

 

Currently planned improvements include:

 

  • Providing ADA accessible access to the park from the Carr Park parking lot
  • Adding potable water filler with bowls and a dog washing station
  • Reconfiguring the boundaries of the big dog (2) and small dog play areas
  • Growing more grass and facilitating a phased rotation system to allow grass to regrow
  • Rerouting fencing to maintain water quality in drainage system

 

Project Update, December 2026

The redesign for the dog park is complete. This project will go out to bid in January of 2026 and is expected to take approximately 3 months. Additional improvements now include:

 

  • Twelve additional trees
  • Two canopy benches
  • Enhanced dog play features including tunnels and boulders
  • An ADA accessible table
  • Public art at the park entrances
