Plans are underway for renovations to Longmont’s Dog Park #1, located at the southeast corner of 21st Avenue and Francis Street.

Currently planned improvements include:

  • Providing ADA accessible access to the park from the Carr Park parking lot
  • Adding a watering station to fill dog bowls with potable water
  • Constructing an additional shelter on the east side of the park
  • Reconfiguring the boundaries of the big dog (2) and small dog play areas
  • Growing more grass and facilitating a phased rotation system to allow grass to regrow
  • Rerouting fencing to maintain water quality in drainage system

Public input is requested on the project. All community members are invited to take the survey at bit.ly/longmont-dog-1. The survey will close at 5 pm on Friday, May 23.

Work on the park is scheduled to begin by the end of 2025 and be completed by spring 2026.
