A pedestrian bridge that crosses Oligarchy Ditch in Garden Acres Community Park will be replaced by an improved bridge that was salvaged from the Resilient St. Vrain Project. The project will include re-decking the salvaged bridge and reworking adjacent trails, landscaping, and irrigation on either side of the bridge.
Schedule
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, November 17 and is anticipated to be completed before the end of January, 2026.
Update: February 2, 2026
The City of Longmont issued a Notice of Substantial Completion for the Garden Acres Bridge Replacement Project on 01/28/2026. On Tuesday (02/03) the contractor cleared the construction barriers and trail closure signs, and the bridge and adjacent trails are now open. Efforts to restore the turf and native grass areas impacted by construction will continue in Spring 2026 to align with irrigation availability and the City’s planting standards.
