Longmont entered into a Public Partnership Agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the design and construction in 2016. Design was completed in December 2022. Goals & Planned Improvements

Once work is completed in this reach, the floodplain to the north of the St. Vrain Creek will be mitigated, protecting lower downtown from future flood risk. The Greenway Trail will be reestablished as be a 10-ft wide concrete path with a 3-ft wide gravel shoulder.

Project Schedule

Construction will start in Spring of 2025. The project is expected to take 18 months and will be complete in Fall 2026.
