Rates and Fees

Please note that our summer electric rates for residential and commercial customers are now in effect and will remain in place through Sept. 30. These rates help cover the higher cost of generating electricity in the summer and also encourage greater energy efficiency at a time when both homes and businesses typically see their heaviest energy use. To help yourself save energy (and money!), please check out the Efficiency Works and CARE programs, as well as our online Efficiency Works Store.

Franchise Fee Information

We believe that providing great service includes providing clear and transparent information. When Longmont Power & Communications reports its rates, we include the City’s 8.64% Franchise Fee. This is paid to the City of Longmont’s General Fund, which supports the community’s police and fire protection, parks and recreation, planning, code enforcement, library services, economic development, and many other vital city services.

Even after including the city’s franchise fee, LPC’s rates remain among the lowest in the state and the nation. Our information below will help you make the most accurate comparison with other utilities or associations.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any rate-related questions.
