Community Education
Community Education
The Community and Neighborhood Resources Division offers two key educational programs designed to support and strengthen our Longmont community.
The Landlord Tenant Alliance (LTA) provides a valuable resource for tenants, property managers, housing authorities, case managers, and maintenance staff, helping them navigate housing regulations and understand their rights and responsibilities. This initiative, in partnership with the Longmont Police Department, ensures that all stakeholders, from private owners to larger agencies, have the tools they need to maintain healthy and informed relationships within Longmont’s housing community.
In addition, the Neighborhood Leadership Series (NLS) helps Longmont residents build the knowledge and skills to lead in their neighborhood groups. Through free trainings and shared resources, NLS supports people in both independent neighborhoods and HOA-governed communities, covering practical topics like organizing, strengthening local leadership, and promoting sustainability and resiliency. For HOA leaders, classes also provide tools for community building, capacity development, and essential business skills such as governance, board roles, budgeting, and member engagement. These classes help neighborhood leaders connect effectively with residents and City staff while managing their communities responsibly and successfully.
Both programs provide free and accessible support to individuals and groups, helping strengthen neighborhoods, foster positive leadership, and improve the overall well being of Longmont residents.
