Discover Neighbors Grant

The City of Longmont’s “Discover Neighbors, Discover Home” grant provides Longmont residents with money to host activities on their neighborhood block to build a sense of community. It can help pay for food and supplies. The number of homes on your block determines available funding:
- Small blocks (6-11 households): Up to $75
- Large blocks (12 or more households): Up to $125
- Two neighboring blocks together: Up to $250 (each block applies separately)
APPLICATIONS FOR 2025 CLOSE OCTOBER 31, 2025.
- Count the number of households on your block to figure out how much money you can apply for
- Check if you need a Block Party Permit for street closures by:
- Visiting https://longmontcolorado.gov/city-clerk/special-events-permit/
- Going to the City Clerk’s Office at 350 Kimbark St.
- Fill out the application
- Submit at least 15 days before your event
- Wait for approval– City Staff will contact you
- Host your activity
- Submit your reimbursement request and event evaluation within two weeks after the activity. Include itemized receipts and/ or closed invoices
- Anyone living in Longmont can apply
- Everyone on the block must be invited to participate
- Grant money cannot be used for:
- Sales taxes on purchases
- Political Activities
- Maintenance expenses
- Purchase of alcohol
- Already completed activities
- Personal property
- Only one grant per block per calendar year
- Your block cannot apply if your neighborhood is registered with the Neighborhood Group Leaders Association
- If your activity requires street closure, apply for a Block Party Permit with the City Clerk’s Office at least 15 days before your event by:

- Going to the City Clerk’s Office at 350 Kimbark St.
- The City of Longmont determines the eligibility for all Discover applications

- The event must benefit everyone living on both blocks
- A neighbor from each block submits a separate application for the same event at the same time
- The number of households on each block determines each applicant’s eligibility amount
- If applying with a neighboring block, mark “Yes” for co-applicant on the application and provide co-applicant’s name
