Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Metropolitan State University and a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Technology and an A.S. degree in Professional Pilot from Kansas State University.

“My passion is aviation,” Brown said. “I look forward to working with all the pilots, owners, businesses, advisory board, and community members that care about Vance Brand Municipal.”

Vance Brand Municipal Airport is located at 229 Airport Road on more than 40 acres in Southwest Longmont. The airport has been serving Longmont and northern Colorado for business, travel and recreational needs for more than 70 years. The airport is named in honor of Longmont native astronaut Vance Brand who commanded the Apollo-Soyuz spacecraft and missions on the space shuttles Columbia and Challenger throughout the 1980s. The airport also provides an important training space for military and firefighting aircraft. There are nearly 20 businesses located at the airport that employ more than 70 people.
