Celebrating Day of the Dead: How to Set Up an Offering

A display of offerings for Day of the Dead in a glass case

Join your Longmont Librarians in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant event on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 2-4 pm in the Library Meeting Rooms. Enjoy a special performance by the Nahucalli Dance Troupe, experience crafts for children and adults, participate in a bilingual storytime, and break open a piñata!

In addition, take-home crafts for young children will be available in the Children and Teen Services area every Monday following the event, featuring unique cultural themes:

  • Sept. 16: Piñatas
  • Sept. 23: Morpho Butterflies
  • Sept. 30: Guatemalan Worry Doll
  • Oct. 7: Quetzal
  • Oct. 14: Plantain Trees

This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to honor and explore Hispanic culture and traditions. All activities are free and open to the public. No registration required.
