Accident closes Hwy 66 at Main St. (Hwy 287) in all directions until after 6:30pm
HWY 66 AT MAIN STREET (HWY 66) IS CLOSED UNTIL AFTER 6:30 PM TONIGHT
We would strongly encourage vehicles to find alternate routes tonight, i.e. Weld County Rd. #1, I-25, Hover Rd, north to Vermillion Rd., 75th St, north to Woodlands Rd. (Hygiene). Longmont Public Safety is developing a traffic plan to help with traffic at this intersection, but at this point, we do not anticipate opening Highway 66 and Highway 287 until sometime between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Please stay off Highway 66 and Highway 287. We are making good progress replacing the light pole and most of the powdered concrete has been vacuumed from the highway. The trailer was loaded with approximately 51,000 lbs. of concrete.
