Air Monitoring Station Scheduled to Move
Air Monitoring Station Scheduled to Move
Due to upcoming construction, the air monitoring station currently located on the south side of Longmont’s Vance Brand Airport is moving to a new location near the bike trail on the east end of the Lykins Gulch Greenway. This project is scheduled to begin the first week of October 2021, and completion is expected by the end of the month. The air monitors which will be moved to Lykins Gulch will track the presence of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. A second air monitoring station is currently located at Union Reservoir, which measures both greenhouse gasses and a variety of oil and gas-related pollutants. Both stations are operated by the City’s contractor Boulder AIR. The data gathered at the two stations is available in near real-time to interested residents at www.bouldair.com/longmont.htm.
