Apply Now to Serve on City Boards and Commissions
The Longmont City Council has opened their bi-annual recruitment to fill vacancies on City advisory boards and commissions. Participants volunteer their time and advise City Council on a wide variety of issues that affect the safety, economy, and quality of life of Longmont’s residents and businesses.
Who can make the difference? It’s you! Community members from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The time commitment can vary from one to six hours each month, depending on the board. This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard and take a more active role in your community.
Applications are now being accepted for one or more vacancies on the following:
- Callahan House Advisory Board
- Historic Preservation Commission
- Housing and Human Services Advisory Board
- Library Advisory Board
- Master Board of Appeals
- Museum Advisory Board
- Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board
- Sustainability Advisory Board
- Transportation Advisory Board
- Water Board

Applications must be submitted before 5 pm on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Board members must be a Longmont resident and a registered to vote in the City of Longmont for at least one year prior to appointment. While a few Boards and Commissions have specific experience requirements, most only require that members possess a strong interest in the related topic area and a commitment to collaboration.
