On Saturday, August 22, the public can observe and talk with five artists at work as they transform the large green utility boxes into design winning works of art. From 9 to 11 am (weather permitting) each artist will be at their designated box with the winning maquette (scaled down model) on hand as they demonstrate their method of taking small to large and chat about the inspiration behind the design.

Feel free to visit each of these artists on a self guided tour by car, bike or on foot around the City!

About the Shock Art program: Since 2011, the Longmont Art In Public Places (AIPP) Commission in collaboration with Longmont Power & Communications has had 24 switchgear boxes painted throughout the City. Local area artists submit their designs in a maquette form and the community votes online and in-person for their favorite designs.
