Celebrate Pride Month at the Longmont Library
In honor of LGBTQ+ Pride Month, the Longmont Library is hosting a series of inclusive and educational events this June designed to foster understanding, support, and celebration for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
All About Pronouns: A Workshop on Language and Allyship is on Monday, June 2, from 5:30 to 7 pm. This interactive workshop will explore the importance of inclusive language and how to be an ally to LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. Learn about the evolving landscape of gender identity, pronouns, and respectful communication. There will be prizes and snacks, and by attending, you can get a free training certificate to add to your resume. Registration required. Â
Teens are invited to an event called Teen Pride on Tuesday, June 10, from 3-4 pm. This event offers a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ teens and allies to celebrate Pride and enjoy crafts, games, and community. Make a keychain and learn about local LGBTQ+ resources.Â
Children and their grown-ups are invited to a special Rainbow Storytime on Saturday, June 14, at 11 am. Librarians will highlight books and stories that celebrate LGBTQ+ voices and experiences. In addition to books, there will be singing, dancing, and a simple craft. Â
Everyone is welcome to attend these free Library events—join us in celebrating an inclusive Longmont!Â
