Citizens May Submit Written Comments on Ballot Issues
City of Longmont registered electors have until noon, Friday, September 21, 2018, to turn in written comments on three ballot issues which will appear on the November 6 coordinated election ballot. The comments will be summarized and included in an information packet that will be mailed to registered voters’ homes prior to the election.
The comments must be written and labeled clearly as either pro or con statements. Electors submitting comments must include their name and address in order for their comments to be included. Written comments are being accepted at the Longmont City Clerk’s office, 350 Kimbark Street.
The three ballot issues are:
CITY OF LONGMONT BALLOT ISSUE 3A
REVENUE BONDS FOR FUNDING THE REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF CITY BUILDINGS – This is a measure that will allow the City to issue $16,430,000 in bonds to rehabilitate various city buildings including the civic center, library, and safety and justice center without raising tax rates or imposing any new tax.

REVENUE BONDS FOR FUNDING FIRE STATION RENOVATION OR REPLACEMENT – This is a measure that will allow the City to issue $9,580,000 in bonds to renovate or replace Fire Stations #2 and #6 without raising tax rates or imposing any new tax.

REVENUE BONDS FOR FUNDING RECREATION IMPROVEMENTS – This is a measure that will allow the City to issue $6,815,000 in bonds to finance recreation improvements including Centennial Pool, golf course irrigation systems, and the Ute Creek Golf Course maintenance facility without raising tax rates or imposing any new tax.
