City of Longmont New Reuse and Hazardous Waste Collection Opportunities
City of Longmont New Reuse and Hazardous Waste Collection Opportunities
The City of Longmont now has a couple more waste collection partnerships and programs that make it easier than ever for residents and community members to responsibly dispose of household materials and divert waste from the landfill.
Through collaboration with local and regional partners, community members now have access to the following new services:
- Weekly Reuse Collection by Resource Central
Resource Central’s Zero Waste team will now be passing through Longmont communities every Monday to collect reusable items such as lumber, cabinetry, doors, windows, sinks, tile, select appliances and larger furniture. These items are given a second life rather than ending up in the landfill, helping to diminish the environmental impact from renovations and deconstructions and making a sustainable difference in our area. This donation is tax deductible. To participate or see more information, visit resourcecentral.org/materialsreuse.
- Hazardous Waste Pickup Now Available in Longmont
Thanks to Boulder County’s Hazardous Materials Management Facility, Longmont older adults and those requiring transportation assistance, like people experiencing disabilities, can have materials like paints, chemicals, pesticides, and batteries collected for free by scheduling a pickup. Please email hazmatall@bouldercounty.gov or call 720-564-2251.
These new services reflect Longmont’s commitment to sustainability, convenience, and empowering residents to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Let’s work together to keep Longmont clean, green, and waste-wise.
