Coffman Street Water Line Replacement Work to Begin March 13
Coffman Street Water Line Replacement Work to Begin March 13
March 6, 2023 – Work to replace the water main on Coffman Street from Third Avenue to Ninth Avenue will begin on Monday, March 13, 2023 and continue through mid-August. Work will be completed in two phases:
- Phase 1: Coffman Street between Sixth Avenue and Ninth Avenue (scheduled from mid-March to mid-June 2023)
- Phase 2: Coffman Street between Third Avenue and Sixth Avenue (scheduled from late-May to mid-August 2023)
Construction will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and each phase will last approximately three months.
Traffic and parking on Coffman Street will be impacted throughout the project. There will be road closures with instances of one lane traffic, and limited on-street parking will be available intermittently. In addition, parking will be available at the Spoke on Coffman, the parking garage between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Road closures will start on March 20 on Coffman Street between Sixth Avenue and Longs Peak Avenue. Commuters are encouraged to follow detour signs and flaggers directing the single-lane traffic to avoid the road closures.
Residential and business access will be maintained during construction, and all sidewalks will remain open throughout the project for pedestrian traffic. Residents will be notified in advance of any necessary water shut-offs as necessitated by the project.
The City of Longmont appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during construction of this important water project. Current project information and traffic impacts can be found on the project website at bit.ly/waterline-replacement.
