SEXUALLY VIOLENT PREDATOR COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION BULLETIN

This bulletin is part of Longmont Police Department’s Sexually Violent Predator Community Notification Program. Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS) 16-13-901 through 16-13-905, require local law enforcement to notify the community when a sex offender who meets the criteria for “Sexually Violent Predator” will be living in their community.  The Longmont Police Department has no legal authority to prohibit sex offenders from living in the community.  The Longmont Police department wants to remind the citizens that acts of vigilantism will not be tolerated. 
The Colorado State Parole Board has determined that the below sex offender, Christopher DeLaCruz, meets the criteria for distinction as a sexually violent predator and as such he is considered to pose a greater than normal risk to the community.

CHARGE AND CONVICTION INFORMATION: Current Conviction: GUILTY ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD, out of Boulder County. 18-3-405. 
             
CURRENT STATUS:  DeLaCruz is not under supervision.

GENERAL INFORMATION
As of November 4, 2013, Colorado has 16,041 registered sex offenders, and as of March 11, 2016, 254 of those offenders live in Longmont.  DeLaCruz is the only sexually violent predator who resides in Longmont.  Web eligible offenders living in Longmont can be viewed at www.sotar.us/apps/sotar. A complete list of registered sex offenders can be obtained by responding to the Longmont Police Department Records Window. The status and location of sexually violent predators is posted on the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s website: (http://cbi.state.co.us). Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) is available to make referrals to other local resources to help those who have been impacted by sexual assault or suffered trauma as a result of this notification.
