JULY 3
Backyard Concert, Roosevelt Park, Gates Open at 6 pm
The weekend’s festivities will kick off on July 3 with a FREE Backyard Concert at Roosevelt Park. Local band Colorado Springsteen will open the show, followed by legendary hip-hop blues band from Philadelphia, G. Love & Special Sauce. Entrance to the concert is free and food and drinks will be available for purchase from a dozen local food trucks.
JULY 4
4th of July Concert in the Park, Thompson Park, 11:30 am – 3 pm
This beloved, annual event moves back to Thompson Park in 2026. The free event will include performances by the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and Longmont Chorale and fun activities for all ages. The concert ends with a bang when cannons blast along with the Symphony performing the 1812 Overture.
Family Festival, Downtown Longmont, 5 – 10 pm
The highly anticipated Family Festival will occupy 2nd Ave between Kimbark St and Collyer St, and Emery St between 1st Ave and 3rd Ave, from 5 to 10 pm. Entrance to the festival area and carnival games are free and food and drinks will be available for purchase from 20 local vendors. Favorite local bands will be performing on two stages. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs – the festival area is a great spot to watch the drone and fireworks shows. There will be free lawn chair valet: drop off your chair at 300 Suns Brewing, receive a claim ticket for pick-up before the drone show, and enjoy the festival hands-free.
Drone Show, 9:15 pm
Local high school students with the Innovation Center of St Vrain Valley School District Drone Performance Team will once again deliver a drone show that has been designed specifically for Longmont’s Independence Weekend celebration. More than 300 drones will fly high above the Dicken’s Farm Nature Area.*
Fireworks show, 9:30 pm
The night will end with a bang! A memorable fireworks finale will start around 9:30 pm. They will be deployed from the Longmont Fire Training Center* and can be seen from many vantage points around Longmont.
Parking and Road Closure Information
Festival Parking
Limited street and lot parking will be available throughout the surrounding areas and designated ADA accessible parking will be available in the north lot of the OUR Center at 220 Collyer St.
*Road, Nature Area and Trail Closures
Beginning at 11 am on Saturday, July 4, both the Dickens Farm Nature Area and Longmont Fire Training Center, including the creek and trails, will be CLOSED to all viewers and vehicles. Additionally, Boston Ave between Main St and S Martin S, and Martin St between Ken Pratt and 1st Ave will be closed to thru traffic for much of the evening.
