Free Fir and Pine Logs Now Available from the City of Longmont
The City of Longmont has a large stockpile of ponderosa pine and Douglas fir logs available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. All logs came from a forest stewardship project at Button Rock Preserve, created to reduce the risks of catastrophic wildfires and protect Longmont drinking water.
The logs are 8-14” diameter and are in eight-foot lengths, so you will need to cut the logs prior to transport or have a large enough truck or trailer to haul them off site, which is located less than a mile north of Highway 66.
Those interested in access to firewood must read and digitally sign a liability release. To view the release and learn more, visit bit.ly/surpluswood2024.
