Lights, Camera …

When Longmont met NextLight, a video made the first introductions. ""

Some of you may remember our NextLight “Lines” video that appeared in October 2014. Short, simple and catchy, it publicly unveiled the NextLight name for the first time and welcomed Longmont to the new world of possibilities that its community-owned internet service would open.

Well, it’s time to hit the screen again. This time on a larger scale.

You see, NextLight will soon be appearing on a five-minute episode of Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid that will be aired throughout Colorado on a number of major networks and nationwide on PBS. The mini-documentary discusses the importance of high-speed internet in today’s world and what NextLight has done to address the “digital divide.”

As you can imagine, we’re pretty excited. It’s not our first time on a national stage: outlets such as USA Today covered our beginnings and we’ve been celebrated multiple times as one of the fastest internet service providers in the nation. But this focuses on an aspect that we’re especially proud of … namely, that NextLight is a service for the entire community.

That’s why we’ve offered discounts for households that need some help. And revved up the speed of our lowest-cost offering. It’s why our business services provide fast and affordable access at every level, from small storefronts to major industries, not to mention the folks working from home. And it’s why from the very start, we’ve worked to make sure that St. Vrain students have the connection they need.

In short, this is YOUR internet service. Which means this is you in the spotlight, too. That’s something to cheer.

Want to watch? It’ll hit Colorado viewers in the second half of May (networks and broad time slots can be found in our press release) and be available to PBS beginning May 23. (And yeah, we’ll probably be putting a clip or two on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel.) Keep an eye out – it’s a great opportunity to spread the word. (And maybe even get a Send-a-Friend discount out of it!)

So get ready for your close-up. It’s show time.
