Longmont City Council Considers Home Sales Prices
Updated information on the City’s housing market and other economic indicators was presented to City Council on March 5. This showed fairly significant changes in home sales prices that have pushed the income needed to purchase the median priced home in Longmont to $115,000 – an increase of about 200% over the past 3 years.
This information is a follow-up to City Council’s January 30, 2018 discussion about Inclusionary Housing. During that meeting, Council passed a motion to establish an Inclusionary Housing program in Longmont. Based on direction from Council, staff will design a draft program that considers best practices in other communities and input received, to date, from outreach meetings with developers and the Longmont Area Realtors.
