On Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at about 12:12pm, Longmont Police and Fire personnel responded to the intersection of S. Hover and Clover Basin reference an auto v. pedestrian collision. Initial investigation determined a semi, tractor-trailer combination, operated by a 32-year-old male from Dacono, was traveling east on Clover Basin at S. Hover St. A pedestrian, a 65-year-old female from Longmont, was situated on the southwest corner of the intersection. At some point, the semi began to make a right turn and the pedestrian began to cross the street walking to the east. The two came together and the pedestrian was run over. The pedestrian was transported from the scene to a metro area hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision are on-going and no further information is available at this time.

Longmont PD is looking to speak with any witnesses who observed the collision (who have not already spoke with an officer) and/or may have dash camera video of this intersection on the date/time of the crash.
