Longmont Recreation Center Swimming Pools Closed for Construction: Expanded Pool Hours at Sunset and Centennial Pools
The Longmont Recreation Center pools will be closed from August 10 through September 18 for the installation of a new interactive water play feature. All pools, including the lap pool, leisure pool, hot tub and lazy river, will be closed. The sauna and steam room will remain open along with the rest of the facility. During the closure, the City will extend the hours at Sunset Pool and Centennial Pool.
Sunset Pool
Sunset Pool will remain open through Sunday, Sept. 13, extending its season beyond the traditional Labor Day closing date. Additional changes include:
- Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 7) extended hours: 10 am – 5 pm
- Lap swimming and water fitness classes start at 8 am, Monday – Saturday, and 10 am on Sundays.
- Open Swim starts at 12:30 pm Monday – Thursday; 10 am Friday and Saturday; and 12 pm on Sundays.

Centennial Pool
Centennial Pool will offer expanded lap swimming and water fitness hours from August 10 through September 6:
- Monday and Wednesday, 5 am – 8 pm
- Tuesday and Thursday, 5 am – 7 pm
- Friday, 5 am – 4 pm
- Saturday, 7 am – noon
- Sunday, 7 am– 11 am
Celebrate the Grand Re-Opening!
The community is invited to celebrate the re-opening of the pools and debut of the new play feature on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 am at the Longmont Recreation Center.
The celebration will include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, complete with bubbles and splash-filled fun for all ages. No registration is required. Admission is included with a recreation pass or by paying the regular daily admission fee.
