Longmont Spring Branch Collection Begins April 1

The City of Longmont offers a FREE curbside collection of tree branches each spring. The 2024 Spring Branch Collection begins April 1 and runs through April 12. Branches must be placed curbside before 7 a.m. on the MONDAY of your scheduled collection week and remain at the curb until picked up.

Limbs and branches will be collected from April 1 – 5 for residences north of Ninth Avenue and from April 8 – 12 for areas south of Ninth Avenue.

Only one pass will be made through each neighborhood, so please keep the following tips and guidelines in mind so you can be prepared:

  • Place branch piles in front of your house by the curb.
  • Branch piles on private property or in alleys will not be collected.

  • Branches must be stacked. Limbs must be cut up into lengths no longer than 6 feet, and no limb may be larger than 6 inches in diameter. Limbs must be placed into stacks no larger than 3 feet in diameter.
  • Stacks should be spaced at least 2 feet apart so they do not interlock. Piles and limbs exceeding these requirements will not be collected.
  • Any branch piles put out after the collection day will not be collected by the City and will be the responsibility of the homeowner.
  • Limbs must be placed in the gutter off the sidewalk, no closer than two feet from any fence, building, or obstacle that would interfere with the pickup of the pile by the work crews.

Anyone who misses the curbside collection or prefers to dispose of your branches on your own schedule can bring to branches to the Longmont Recycling Center or place branches inside your composting cart year-round.
