LPC wants community in the picture for Public Power Week

LONGMONT, CO – This year, Longmont Power & Communications is putting the “public” in Public Power Week with a community photo contest. Two winners will receive $50 off their next electric bill, as well as an LPC tote bag and an LED light bulb.

Public Power Week (Oct. 5-11) celebrates the more than 2,000 towns and cities across the U.S. that own and operate their own electric utilities. That includes LPC, which consistently offers its residents some of the lowest rates and best reliability in the nation.

The contest will run for two weeks, from Oct. 5 through Oct. 18. Photos may be submitted by individuals and businesses, and may be of whatever they happen to be doing in the community. The only restrictions are:
• The photo must be taken in Longmont
• A Public Power Week sign has to be somewhere in the photo
• Don’t do anything that would embarrass your 3rd grade teacher.

Photographers may make their own Public Power Week sign or download and print one from the LPC website. A link to the printable sign may be found by going to https://longmontcolorado.gov/lpc and clicking on the Public Power Week banner.
Entries may be submitted by Facebook message to the City of Longmont’s page or by email to lpc@ci.longmont.co.us.

There is no entry fee.

Anyone with questions about the contest may call LPC at 303-651-8386.
