ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The five-story transit center will include a bus station with 10 bus bays and approximately 700 parking spaces, along with bicycle storage and connections to the city’s growing multimodal transportation network. The project will support future Bus Rapid Transit service between Longmont and Boulder and connect with planned infrastructure for Front Range passenger rail.

Construction of the 1st & Main Transit Station will be completed by the end of 2027 and is part of a larger transformation of Longmont’s lower downtown corridor. In addition to the transit center, area redevelopment plans include extending Coffman Street between 1st Avenue and Boston Avenue, new housing and commercial development and the planned Front Range Community College campus. Together, these projects are helping establish a new STEAM-focused district centered on education, workforce development, innovation, arts and makerspaces.
