New Water Play Feature Brings More Fun to Longmont Recreation Center: Community Invited to Grand Reopening Celebration
The leisure pool and new water play feature at the Longmont Recreation Center are open, and the community is invited to celebrate with a grand reopening event on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 am.
The celebration will include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and plenty of opportunities for families to enjoy the new feature together. Guests can splash, slide and play and enjoy snacks, bubbles and rubber ducks. No registration is required and admission is included with a recreation pass or available by paying the regular daily admission fee.
The new interactive water play feature includes:
- Three water slides: two side-by-side racer slides and one large, open-top curving slide.
- Splash and splash-free areas: a designated spray play area for those who love getting soaked, along with areas for those who prefer to stay dry.
- Interactive water tables: movable pieces and flowing water encourage creative, hands-on play.
- Toddler-friendly features: two play features designed especially for the Recreation Center’s youngest swimmers.
“We are so excited to welcome the community back to the pools and unveil this incredible new play feature,” said Sara Taylor, Recreation Area Supervisor. “It is an amazing addition to the Longmont Recreation Center; offering many new ways to play, explore and have fun together, especially for families with young children.”
The lap pool, leisure pool, lazy river, new water play feature and hot tub are now all open for use. For current pool schedules and additional information, visit the Longmont pools webpage.
