News Release – Shooting 100 block of Sunset

PRESS RELEASE (October 31, 2017, 8:30 am)

On Monday, October 30, 2017, at 4:17 hours, officers were dispatched to a reported accidental shooting at a house in the 100 block of Sunset Street, Longmont.  Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The location of the wound is not being released at this time.  He was transported to Longmont United Hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment. 

Detectives responded and continued the investigation late into the night.  The investigation led to probable cause for several charges for a 17-year-old male.  At about 9:15 pm, detectives located the male in a house in southwest Loveland, where he was arrested without incident. 

The 17-year-old male was brought to the Longmont Police Department and then was transported to Boulder County Juvenile Detention.  He was charged with 5 felonies and 2 misdemeanors.

The status of the victim is not known at this time. 

Additional information will likely be released later on Tuesday.
