“It’s about local support,” PC Mag says of providers’ high-powered performance

LONGMONT, CO – You just can’t beat local. That’s what PC Magazine concluded after community-owned broadband services from Longmont and Loveland ranked at the top of its Best ISP 2025 list, with Loveland’s Pulse ranking no. 1 in the nation and Longmont’s NextLight just half a point away at no. 3.

PC Magazine decides the scores through a combination of speed, affordability, customer satisfaction and reach. In evaluating the rankings, a contributing editor from CNET told PC Mag he wasn’t surprised at the results.

“It’s about local support,” he said. “It’s my community utility: They know me, I know them. It’s not a big, faceless company. I feel that’s a huge motivating factor.”

Earlier in the month, both ISPs also scored highly in PC Magazine’s Readers’ Choice and Business Choice Awards, where reader surveys ranked NextLight as the best municipal ISP in the nation and the best work-from home ISP, as well as no. 2 in the nation for overall satisfaction.
