NextLight repairing fiber-line cut in NW Longmont

NextLight crews are working to repair a 144-strand  fiber that was accidentally cut during road work Monday afternoon  in northwest Longmont, disrupting phone and internet service to around 700 customers.

The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of 21st Avenue and Harvard Street. NextLight spokesman Scott Rochat said the line may take about 12 hours to repair, with the crews working into Tuesday morning.

“We know how important NextLight service is to all of our customers, and our team will be working as quickly and safely as they can to restore service,” Rochat said. “We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience as the work is completed.”
