Offering Honor and Remembrance for National Police Week

honoring officers killed in the line of duty
Each year our nation offers respect, honor, remembrance, and community support for National Police Week, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15, 2021) and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

The Longmont Public Safety Chaplains host a Peace Officer Memorial to pay tribute to those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Due to the COVID pandemic in 2021, the Peace Officer Memorial has been pre-recorded.
