On Beyond Earth Day (More Power to You blog)
Thanks to everyone who visited our Longmont Power & Communications table at Saturday’s Earth Day event! And if you missed the chance to talk with us about energy efficiency, renewable energy and other great stuff, have no fear … the conversation’s not over yet.
We’re not just saying that because the “official” Earth Day holiday is Wednesday. Even after that day has come and gone, it’s always a good time to talk with us about energy or check out what we have online. That includes:
- Getting a home energy assessment to find out where you might be able to save energy (and money!). Visit our friends at Efficiency Works for more information. (And if you’re a business owner, there are plenty of opportunities for your business to save energy, too.)
- Electrifying your home – and no, that doesn’t just mean making it a more exciting place. Check out our Going All-Electric page for information on how to make your home carbon free, whether that means installing a heat pump for your heating and cooling needs, or checking out a free induction cooktop for your kitchen.
- Going solar to help offset some of your energy needs with rooftop panels. Longmont recently made it easier than ever to get started, so check out our Solar Energy page for more details. You can also find a video of helpful tips to follow before you get started (like getting that home energy assessment mentioned above) and opportunities to share the cost and save money through Switch Together.
- Driving electric with the help of a Longmont rebate for home EV chargers. And if you need to know more about the vehicles themselves, Efficiency Works can help get you started.
One last thing – if you’d like to chat with us face-to-face about any of this, we’ll be at the Connect Longmont Open House on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Stop by the Senior Center between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and say hello. We‘ll also be staying at the Senior Center for an event about energy efficiency right afterward from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – find out more and register here.
You could even call it a down-to-Earth conversation.
