Parade Route Changing Due to Construction

Due to ongoing construction, Longmont’s traditional parade route will be temporarily altered to ensure the safety and accessibility of all participants and spectators. This change will begin with the Boulder County Fair Parade on August 3, 2024.

New Parade Route Details

All parades will still start and be staged around Roosevelt Park. The parade will cross at Longs Peak Avenue and Coffman Street to Main Street, turn right and travel down Main Street, turn left at 4th Avenue and come back up Kimbark Street to Longs Peak Avenue, returning to Roosevelt Park crossing Longs Peak and Coffman. Please note that Main Street will still be closed at 3rd Avenue for all parades to better control traffic and provide for participant safety even though the parade route turns at 4th Avenue. See map below.

Map of Longmont around Roosevelt Park. The parade begins south of the park on at Longs Peak Avenue and heads east to cross Coffman Street. It turns right on Main Street, then left onto 4th Avenue, left again on Kimbark, and left again onto Longs Peak Avenue, returning to the south end of the park.

The Coffman Street construction project, scheduled to last from 2024 through 2026, necessitates these changes. We understand that this route change may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as the City works to transform downtown.
