Post Office Public Parking Lot Access from Coffman Street Closed July 8
Facility to Remain Open for All Usual Functions
On Tuesday, July 8, the driveway entrance and north parking lot for the Longmont Post Office, at 201 Coffman St., will be closed to public access as work continues on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project. This closure is anticipated to last for one day only.
This parking lot shutdown is the first in a series of approximately four intermittent short-term closures planned during the project. During the closures, customers are encouraged to park in the public parking lots on Coffman Street north of 3rd Ave.
The Longmont Post Office will remain open for business during all parking lot closures, offering usual access to counter services, P.O. boxes and passport appointments. Alternately, customers may use postal services at the Marketplace Postal Station inside the Ace Hardware Store at 1727 Main St. or the Hygiene Post Office at 11830 N. 75th St. Other surrounding locations can be found by visiting the USPS Find a Location and choosing “Post Office” as the location type.
The blue collection boxes located at the Longmont Post Office drive-through have been temporarily removed during the Coffman Street construction. Nearby collection boxes are located at 477 Main St. with a 10:30 a.m. pickup, 736 Main St. with a noon pickup and 1035 Kimbark St. with a noon pickup. Customers can find other nearby boxes by visiting the USPS Find a Location and choosing “Collection Boxes” as the location type.
Currently, the southbound lanes of Coffman St. are closed between 2nd Ave. and 3rd Ave. Traffic is allowed northbound only. This is a continuation of construction on the west side of Coffman St. which is progressing from 6th Ave. to 2nd Ave. for the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project.
More information can be found on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements Project webpage. Various parking options can be found on the Downtown Longmont Parking webpage.
