Public Notice: Sunset Bridge Project

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Sunset Street Bridge Project will have minor impacts to Izaak Walton Park. CDOT has determined that the parking lot reconfiguration and grading in the park during construction of the proposed Project would likely be a de minimis (minor) use of the parkland because it does not adversely affect any recreational features, attributes, or activities in Izaak Walton Park.

The City of Longmont (City) in coordination with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Boulder County Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is planning to reconstruct the Sunset Street Bridge over St. Vrain Creek (Project). The Bridge serves as a multimodal transportation connection for Longmont residents, businesses, and recreational users of the St. Vrain Greenway. The bridge and greenway trail were severely damaged as a result of the 2013 September flood.

The construction of this Project is currently planned to begin summer 2015 and be complete during winter 2015. Find more details on the Sunset Street Corridor project webpage.

Please submit all questions or comments concerning the proposed Project and its affect to Izaak Walton Park by February 13, 2015 to:
