Welcome the Waste Wizard

Enjoy our new, web-based tool to find the best disposal options for hundreds of items. Never again wonder if something is recyclable, compostable or destined for the trash. Just type in the name of the item and the Waste Wizard tells you exactly what to do with it. Ask the Wizard what goes where >

Tour the Boulder County Recycling Center

Have you ever wondered how all that stuff in your recycling cart gets sorted and put back to good use? Well, wonder no more! The Boulder County Recycling Center, where all of Longmont’s recyclable material is processed, offers tours! (Yes, so cool.) You can do a self-guided tour or, if you gather a group of 10 or more, you can get an interactive-guided one. And, if you just want to watch a video tour from your couch, they have that, too. Take a tour and see recycling in action >

Remember the Longmont Waste Diversion Center

If you haven’t tried out this resource, welcome to Longmont – you’re probably new to town! The Waste Diversion Center (WDC) is a hub for all things recycling. Located at 140 Martin Street, it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to drop off standard recyclables. During business hours, you can also take yard waste, compostable materials, plastic bags, used automotive and cooking oil, automotive batteries, shredded paper, block styrofoam, scrap metal, and – during the holidays – trees, wrapping paper and strand lights! Best of all, the Center is FREE for residents. Discover all the WDC has to offer >
