City of Longmont Completes Rough and Ready Greenway Trail Improvements

The City of Longmont has completed improvements to the Rough & Ready Greenway Trail between 9th Avenue and Mountain View Avenue. The trail is now fully open to pedestrians and bicyclists.

Construction started in May and included replacing the aging asphalt trail with a new concrete surface that created a more durable, accessible and lower-maintenance trail for the community. The project also included drainage improvements and other infrastructure upgrades that will help extend the life of the trail. The improvements were coordinated with the ongoing Pace Street Improvements Project to minimize construction impacts and improve efficiency.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while these important improvements were completed,” said City Project Manager, Jace Terfehr. “The new trail provides a smoother, longer-lasting surface that will better serve walkers, runners and bicyclists for years to come.”

While the Rough & Ready Greenway Trail has reopened, work on the Pace Street Improvements Project will continue through the end of the year. Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists are encouraged to use caution and follow all posted signs and traffic control devices when traveling through the construction area.
