As a kid, family vacations were always an open book for me. Literally.

While Mom and Dad made the long drive from state to state, I would devour the contents of a bulging book bag. It didn’t matter that I was confined in the narrow back seat of a Volvo station wagon. After all, my mind had the freedom of magical adventures, puzzling mysteries, intriguing biographies and more – all while the family car rolled along the highway to its destination.

In short, I was totally stationary. But also moving at high speed. And open to the world.

I think we can all sympathize with that lately, can’t we?

We’re coming up on a year since our lives became a lot more stationary – and since we learned how much could still happen over a high-speed connection like NextLight. Whether it’s education and work, seeing friends and family, or just catching up with six seasons of a favorite TV show in one gulp, Longmont has been demonstrating what’s possible when you live at the speed of fiber.

Now it’s time to make that demonstration on a national stage again.

Yes, I’m talking about the PC Magazine speed tests. Which is only fair, because they sure like to talk about us. All through the year, visitors take the online test to show off their local ISP. And time and again, when the results get reported in June, NextLight is ranked among the fastest in the nation – or even as THE fastest in the nation.

That happens because of you.  When enough of you show what NextLight can do, people notice. And in a year when the nation has learned how important high-speed internet service is, people will REALLY notice.

So keep waving the flag. Take the test. (And make sure to experiment with the server options they provide – some are better at capturing our speed than others!) Let’s remind the country that when it comes to great internet, Longmont and NextLight are still the team to beat.

And you can put that one in the books.
